Four Kats earn CUSA men’s golf accolades

DALLAS — The Sam Houston men's golf team dominated the 2023-24 All-Conference USA teams, the league announced Wednesday.

Bret Gray was the Bearkats' lone first-team selection. Hugo Trommetter, Josh German and Ting-Wei Hsieh earned three of the second-team spots.

Trommetter had a solid first year for Sam Houston. He was named to the All-Freshman team.

The Bearkats advanced to the match play round of the 2024 CUSA Championships after a closing out stroke play at 18-under par to grab the No. 2 seed. Liberty was able to edge Sam Houston to advance to the championship.

German placed fifth in the individual standings at the CUSA Championships. Hsieh was able to finish tied for 10^th, while Gray tied for 14^th place. Trommetter closed out the tournament with a tie for 34th.
