Hewitt named to CUSA All-Academic team

DALLAS – Sam Houston reliever Logan Hewitt has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic team, per a release on Friday from league officials.

Hewitt, a redshirt junior on the field who is in his fourth year in the program, has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in recently completing his MBA at Sam Houston.

He is one of the top relief arms on the staff, appearing in 23 games for the Bearkats out of the bullpen, producing a 4.15 ERA in 43.1 innings with a career-high 50 strikeouts and two saves.

For his career Hewitt has made 68 appearances on the mound with 149 strikeouts in 147.1 innings of work.

Hewitt is the lone Bearkat on the 11-member squad which also includes players from Dallas Baptist, FIU, Liberty, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee and NM State.
