LUBBOCK — The Sam Houston indoor track and field teams performed well at the Texas Tech Red Raider invitational on Friday at the Sports Performance Center.
Benjamin Carlile won the bronze in the men's pole vault to highlight action for the Bearkats. He turned in a height of 5.08 meters.
Ellie Galan cruised to a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:11.88. The 4x400 relay team of
Kaderria Hobbs, Amaya Kennison-Jenkis,
Makensi Greenwood and
Aniyah Ramirez came in ninth with a time of 3:55.37.
The Bearkats got a fifth place from
Amaya Brown in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters.
Jayden Jones clocked a 21.06 second 200 meters for the men which was good enough to finish fifth while
Tyriq Brunn was 10
th at 21.29.
Kamari Fisher placed ninth in the 400 with a time of 48.76.
Christian Rohlack picked up a fifth-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.70, and
Caleb Anthony was right behind in sixth at 1:53.13.
The 4x400 relay of
Kamari Fisher, Rohlack and Jones placed sixth with a time 3:11.63, and Robert Krosnyak,
Harley Jensen,
Jaquez Simmons and
Xzamion Parker came in eighth at 3:15.78.
Kaleb Kiser was ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.70 meters.
Nikos Fotinopoulos was seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 17.35 meters, and
John Hanson was 10
th in the shot put with a distance of 15.78.
