Kats return to Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLAS – The Sam Houston men's golf team will take part in the Trinity Forest Invitational, beginning Sunday, October 5 at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
 
The event, hosted by SMU, will consist of 54 holes and is a three-day tournament with 18 holes being played each day.
 
The course is compared to Pinehurst No. 2 and ranked ninth in Texas by Golf Digest. It features demanding roughs, strategically placed bunkers, and complex greens.
 
This par 72, 7,617-yard tournament has been played since 2012. The Bearkats return after a three-year hiatus from the event, playing from 2018-2022. Their top finish came in 2020 when the Kats finished fifth.
 
The field consists of 15 teams including Abilene Christian, Baylor, Cal Poly, East Tennessee State, Furman, Houston, Louisiana, Rice, South Alabama, UNT, UTRGV, UTSA, USC, and the host SMU.
 
Live scoring will be via Scoreboard by Clippd with updating scores throughout the round as well as the results at the end of each day.
