HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Sam Houston men's and women's cross-country teams competed at the 2025 Conference USA Championships on Saturday at John Hunt Park.
The Bearkats'
Mario Ruiz finished in 13th place with a time of 24:16.25, earning second team All-CUSA honors after leading the Sam Houston men's team to an eighth-place finish.
Klever Torres placed 60th with a time of 26:20:26.
Anthony Perez finished right next to him at 61st with a time of 26:20.83.
The women's team placed 10th at the cross country championships.
Sophia Phillip was Sam Houston's top finisher with a time of 21:38:63 to come in 33rd place.
Zerah Martinez finished just behind her in 36th with a time of 21:42:56.
