Bangkok, Thailand — Sam Houston bowling standout Noey Sarntong is set to make her Southeast Asian Games debut this week as she joins the Adult National Team representing Thailand, the host nation of the 33rd SEA Games.
 
Sarntong will once again be accompanied Bearkat head coach Brad Hagen, who is making his second SEA Games appearance. Hagen will serve as the Women's Team Coach throughout the competition and as a National Team Technical Advisor for both the men's and women's squads.
 
"I'm very honored to assist with the National Team and continue supporting the Thai Federation — not only for Noey, but for the program as a whole," Hagen said. "I know how important these Games are, especially for the host nation. Noey continues to trend upward stateside with us at Sam Houston and is growing into her potential. I'm grateful the National Team coaches recognize her progress and have given her this opportunity. I know she feels honored as well. I truly believe both the men's and women's teams have a real chance to reach the podium this week, which is always the goal."
 
The Opening Ceremony will take place Tuesday at Rajamangala National Stadium, Thailand's national football stadium and the country's largest sports venue.
 
Throughout the week, Sarntong and the Thai Federation will continue training in preparation for competition, which officially begins Saturday. The Women's Singles event is scheduled to start on Sunday.
 
The 2025 Southeast Asian Games, also known as the 33rd SEA Games and officially titled SEAGAMES Thailand 2025, is a multi-sport international event sanctioned by the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF). The Games are scheduled to take place from Dec. 9-20, with Bangkok and its metropolitan area, Chonburi Province, and Songkhla Province serving as the main host cities.
