RUSTON, La. – The Sam Houston women's basketball team could not hold on in 76-55 loss to LA Tech on Thursday at Thomas Assembly Center.
The Bearkats (12-14, 5-11 CUSA) tied it at the half but quickly fell behind when the Lady Techsters took a large lead in the fourth.
Deborah Ogayemi led the team with her sixth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Fanta Kone put up 12 points for San Houston.
The Bearkats grabbed the lead late in the second quarter after the Lady Techsters went four scoreless minutes. LA Tech got going again offensively and tied it at 32 heading into the break.
Sam Houston could not contain freshman powerhouse Paris Bradley who scored 23 points for LA Tech.
The Bearkats will head out west to face UTEP and NM State next week to close out the regular season. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
