HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston Bearkats will continue its 9-game road swing on Wednesday when it heads to the DFW Metroplex to take on UT Arlington at Clay Gould Ballpark. 

The Kats will be looking to put an end to a 4-game losing skid and snag not only its first midweek victory of 2025, but its first win away from Don Sanders Stadium.  

The game is set for a 6:00 p.m. start and can be viewed on ESPN+. 

Sophomore right-hander Noah Kendrick is scheduled to get his third consecutive midweek start. He is coming off the strongest outing of his career last week at Houston when he allowed just one run in 4.1 frames against the Cougars.  

He will be opposed by UTA righty Anthony Garcia in what is expected to be a bullpen day for the Mavericks. UTA also got a firsthand look at Houston over the weekend, taking the first game of a weekend series from the Cougars before allowing a total of 33 runs dropping in the final two games on their home turf. 

The Bearkats have won five of the last six meetings with the Mavericks, including each of the past four since Jay Sirianni has taken over as head coach; however, Sam Houston has not won at Clay Gould Ballpark since 2012, the last season the teams were each in the Southland Conference together.
