Kats tied for fourth after Day 1 of Aggie Invitational

COLLEGE STATION – The Sam Houston men's golf team will go into the final day of the Aggie Invitational in tied for fourth with Baylor at +19 overall after 36 holes of play at Traditions Golf Club on Saturday.
The Bearkats shot +12 in round one and hit +7 in round two. Josh German came in leading the Kats in the first round with -1, 5 birdies on the round. Gene Chaikangwal behind him with +3 shooting 75. Bret Gray shot 77 in the first round but bounced back in the second round shooting even (72) and is the leader for the Kats going into round three.
Hugo Trommetter had a tough start shooting +5 in the first round alongside Gray and cleaned up with an eagle on the 15th hole and two birdies in the second round putting him seven-over par. Chaikangwal had three birdies in the second round putting him four-over par heading into the third round.
Sebastian May turned in 78-76 on his rounds on the par 72 course putting him tied for 44th overall. Alex Malanga fired off 80-84 as an individual with two birdies in the first and second round.
Play for the final round of the Aggie Invitational is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. Live scoring can be followed on Scoreboard by Clippd.
