Kats in sixth after second round of CUSA Championships

ST AUGUSTINE, FLA. – The Sam Houston women's golf team fired a round of 296 and stands in sixth place after the second round of the Conference USA Championships on Tuesday, played at World Golf Village.
Amelia Guo led the way shooting even par (72) on the day moving her up nine spots to 13th overall. Guo played consistent firing off two birdies and two bogeys on 18 holes. Grace Jin fired off a round of 73, which has her still tied for 6th individually. Jin started off hot with three birdies in the front nine and later four bogeys in the back nine.
Victoria Renzi came in right next to Jin with one-over par. Renzi moved up 11 spots to 28th individually. Gracie Heinle turned in a 78 putting her 24th overall after shooting two birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey on the day. Amelia Guo came in right behind her with a 75. Cari Denson's 83 closed out the Kats' scoring rounds.
Jax State remains the leader of the 8-team field with team rounds of 290 heading into the final round. Western Kentucky coming in behind them shooting seven-over par (292) on the day.
The Kats will tee off for the final round of the CUSA Championships at 7:30 a.m. from World Golf Village. Sam Houston will be paired with Western Kentucky and New Mexico State.
Live Scoring will be via Scoreboard by Clipped with updating scores throughout the round as well as results at the end of each day. The final round will be aired on ESPN + starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
