JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Sam Houston Bearkats will be back on the road this weekend when they make their first trip to Jax State to battle the Gamecocks for three games, beginning Friday at Jim Case Stadium. 

Each game of the weekend can be watched on ESPN+ . It can be followed via Statbroadcast or by following @BearkatsBSB on Instagram and X. 

The Gamecoks missed the 2024 CUSA Tournament, but have been one of the surprises of 2025 within the league under second-year head coach Steven Bieser. They have won three of their last CUSA series, including taking two of three on the road at NM State last week.  

The Bearkats, meanwhile, the Kats will be looking to take their first weekend series of the year and put a halt on a tough skid which has seen them drop each of their last 10 games overall. 

Sam Houston will once again turn to sophomores Noah Kendrick and Ryan Peterson to open the weekend, but will also be looking to the offense to get going. Brady Christensen enters the weekend leading the Kats with a .281 average at the plate and 18 extra-base hits, while Parker Blackman's 18 stolen bases ranks third in the league.
