HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston Bearkats will begin their final push for a postseason berth this weekend when it hosts Liberty for three games at Don Sanders Stadium.

Each game of the weekend can heard on the Bearkat Sports Network with Carlos Zimmermann on the call. It can also be followed via Statbroadcast or by following @BearkatsBSB on Instagram and X.

The series was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, but has now been pushed back to a noon start on Saturday due to likely inclement weather in the area. The Bearkats and Flames will now play two games on Saturday, followed by a noon first pitch on Sunday in the finale.

Sam Houston has struggled in 2025 but is still in position to make a run at a berth in this month's Conference USA Tournament. The Bearkats currently check in behind Liberty and Middle Tennessee in the league's standings, four games back of the Flames for the final spot in the tournament, with series vs both Liberty and MTSU upcoming in the next two weeks.

The Bearkats had dropped 12 games in a row until it got back into the win column in league play last Sunday, closing its series at Jax State with a 12-4 win over the Gamecocks.

That effort came behind senior sluggers Brady Christensen and Hunter Autrey, each finishing with four RBI apiece. Christensen's came on a pair of 2-run homers while Autrey had three hits and now needs just three more RBI to reach 100 for his collegiate career.

Cam Diaz earned the victory vs JSU and will get the ball on Sunday once again vs the Flames. The Kats will stick with the same rotation with righties Noah Kendrick and Ryan Peterson scheduled to get the ball in Games 1 and 2.
