HELSINGBORG, Sweden — The International Bowling Federation World Youth Cup will be held Tuesday through June 21 at the Olympia Bowling Center hosted by the Swedish Bowling Federation and a Sam Houston roller will be battling for the title.
Ramita "Noey" Sarntong will be competing and representing her home country of Thailand, accompanied by Bearkat head coach
Brad Hagen in his 10
th international competition as a coach, and Sam Houston athletic trainer Amy Van Horn making her official debut as a supporting staff member for the Thai Bowling Federation. Sarntong is coming off her best NCAA season to date where she ranked in the top 45 in the US/NCAA Bowling, bowled 97 percent of the season, and nearly just missed NCAA Bowling All-American honors.
Sarntong, who will be bowling in a field featuring athletes from 40 countries including 31 in the Youth Female Division, is one of Thailand's youngest standouts who continues to grow and represent not only Sam Houston on the international stage but her home country of Thailand when able. She has made her most recent international appearance at the Asian Youth Games in 2023 and is looking to make her next adult appearance at the Southeast Asian Games this December when Thailand serves as the host nation.
