
Kats heads to Jacksonville for UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Sam Houston women's golf team heads east to compete in the 2026 Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate, beginning Monday, February 23, at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.
The two-day event, hosted by North Florida, has been played annually since 2014 and will feature 54 holes of competition, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday and the final 18 holes set for Tuesday.
The par-72 course measures 6,348 yards and features narrow fairways along with water and sand hazards throughout the layout. Jacksonville Golf & Country Club was named Jax Best Golf Course in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
The 14-team field includes Augusta, Campbell, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville, Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, Miami, No. 29 Oklahoma State, Old Dominion, South Alabama, South Florida, Tulsa, and host North Florida.
Last season, Sam Houston placed 11th overall at the event with a team score of +70. Amelia Guo led the Bearkats, recording two eagles and posting rounds of 71-81-75 to finish 16th individually. Victoria Renzi followed in 24th place, improving each round with scores of 79-77-74.
The Bearkats have previously claimed the team title at this tournament, winning back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024. The Kats still hold the tournament record for lowest 54-hole team score with an 848 in 2024 and an 850 in 2023. Former Bearkat Hanna Alberto also captured individual titles in 2019 and 2021.
