Kats drop four at FGCU Tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Sam Houston beach volleyball team dropped four matches over the weekend at the Eagle Invitational, hosted by FGCU. Â
The Kats (1-14) nearly pulled out a victory in the weekend opener, falling to Palm Beach State College, 3-2, before dropping consecutive matches to FGCU, Jacksonville and FIU. Â
The duo of Lexi Higgins and Kate Smith picked up a point against PBS with a 22-20 21-12 win on the No. 2 court, while the pair of Laelah Quezada and Hailey Masiero took the point at the No. 5 court by a 21-17 22-20 score. Â
The Kats will return to the Sunshine State next weekend to take part in the USF Tournament in Clearwater Beach. Â
