FRISCO – The Sam Houston women's golf team heads north to compete in the 2026 Conference USA Women's Golf Championships, set to begin Monday, April 20 at the Fazio Course at Stonebriar Country Club.
The championship will be played as a 54-hole tournament over three days, with one round each day on the par-72, 6,386-yard course. The Bearkats will compete against a field that includes Delaware, FIU, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Middle Tennessee, Missouri State, New Mexico State, UTEP, and reigning champion Western Kentucky.
Designed by Tom Fazio, the course opened in 2000 and features narrow fairways, strategically placed bunkers, tree-lined holes, and water hazards guarding many of the greens. This marks the first time the championship will be held at Stonebriar, after last year's event took place in St. Augustine, Florida.
Sam Houston will be making its third appearance at the CUSA Championships since joining the conference in the 2023–24 season. The Bearkats finished sixth in last year's tournament after competing in the event for the first time the season prior.
Amelia Guo returns to lead the lineup after finishing 11th overall at last year's championship with rounds of 75-72-74. She will be joined by newcomers Francesca Sumcad, Isabelle Hurrion, Pureun Kim, and Bomyeong Lee. The Bearkats are paired with Jacksonville State for the opening round.
Live scoring will be available via Clippd, with coverage also streamed on ESPN+. Sam Houston's first tee time is set for 9:20 a.m., with the final Bearkat scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.
