Kats hit the road to SFA

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Sam Houston travels to face Stephen F. Austin in a midweek matchup at the SFA Softball Field.

The Bearkats (24-18, 9-6 Conference USA) were swept last weekend by WKU and look to rebound before resuming conference play. Sam Houston holds an 82-72 all-time record against SFA (22-18, 6-9 Southland Conference) in a series that dates back to 1984.

The two teams have already met once this season, with the Bearkats falling 8-4 at home.

Sophia Lundstrom leads Sam Houston at the top of the lineup with a .400 batting average, 11 doubles and 56 hits. Morgan Holliday leads the team with 14 stolen bases, while Veronica Harrison paces the Bearkats with 23 walks, 85 total bases and 13 home runs.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday at the SFA Softball Field in Nacogdoches.
