Kats finish 15th at Mo Morial

BRYAN – The Sam Houston women's golf team placed 15th at the 22nd Mo Morial, hosted by Texas A&M at Traditions Club.
The Bearkats carded a final-round 21-over-par to close the three-day tournament at +88 overall. Sam Houston finished ahead of Toledo and came within 11 strokes of Lipscomb and 16 strokes of Western Kentucky.
Amelia Guo led the Bearkats with a 12th-place finish at 9-over-par, posting rounds of 74-78-73. She recorded four birdies in the opening round and added two birdies in each of the final two rounds.
Isabelle Hurrion finished 66th at 25-over-par with rounds of 86-78-77, tallying two birdies in the first round and adding one in each of the final two rounds.
Pureun Kim placed 71st at 28-over-par with rounds of 86-82-76, recording one birdie in each of the first two rounds and two on the back nine in the final round. Vicky Renzi finished 75th with rounds of 84-80-83, totaling two birdies across the first and final rounds.
Francesca Sumcad posted consistent rounds of 81-84-84, recording two birdies in both the first and final rounds and one in the second. Competing as an individual, Bomyeong Lee placed 61st with rounds of 84-79-77.
No. 3 Texas A&M captured the team title at 21-over-par, followed by No. 24 Baylor at 24-over-par and No. 35 Missouri at 34-over-par.
The Bearkats will wrap up their season at the CUSA Championships, beginning April 20 at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco.
