Aggies hand Kats first loss of season

COLLEGE STATION — Sam Houston suffered its first loss of the season on the road at Texas A&M on Saturday evening.

The Bearkats were unable to break through offensively for the second match in a row as the Aggies used three second-half goals to come away with a 5-0 victory at Ellis Field. Sam Houston (0-1-2) had just one shot on goal with it coming in the second half by Taylor Vance.

Even though Texas A&M managed to score five goals, Bearkat goalkeeper Hannah Stipp had 10 saves to bring her total on the season to 23.

Sam Houston will continue its four-match road trip to open the season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday.
