Bearkats fall to Houston

HOUSTON — Sam Houston suffered its second loss of the season Thursday evening, falling 5-0 to Houston on the road at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
The Bearkats (2-2-3) were unable to find the back of the net after returning from a two-game homestand, while the Cougars used three first-half goals to build an early lead.
Goalkeeper Hannah Stipp recorded six saves on the night as Houston finished with 27 shots, including 11 on goal.
Sam Houston's offense was led by Siera Herbert with two shots. Ellie Morgan, Kelsey Villatoro and Sara Benton each recorded one shot.
The Bearkats return home Sunday for Senior Night against McNeese at 4 p.m. at Pritchett Field.
