Amateur Golf
Herbst won the WAPT Heritage Classic shooting -8 with scores of 72-73-66-69. This led to Jen winning the season long WAPT Series point race, that would earn her an exemption into an Epson Tour event, making her the first Bearkat to play in an Epson event while playing for Sam Houston. At the Epson Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic Jen shot rounds of 74-70 finishing T45th.
2021-2022 Season
Carded a 71.94 scoring average over 11 events as a sophomore for the Bearkats, the lowest of her career … recorded five top 5 finishes highlighted by her solo first-place finish at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational with rounds of 65-71-77 … second-place finish at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational with rounds of 72-70-69 … second-place finish at the USA Intercollegiate with rounds of 69-68-66 … tied for third place at the WAC Women’s Golf Championship with rounds of 77-72-68 ... Herbst was named WAC Player of the Year and first team All-Conference after leading the conference in stroke average … At the NCAA Alburquerque Regional Herbst finished tied for 11th with rounds of 74-69-75 … Herbst finished the season ranked 80th on GolfStat … Herbst had a team high 15 rounds of par or better
2020-21 Season
Co-medalist at the Southland Conference Championship and was named the conference Newcomer of the Year. First career win was at the Cardinal Classic hosted by Lamar. She played half of her 18 rounds at par or better this season with a low round of 70 in the second event of the season at the UNF Collegiate. She finished in the top 10 in all six tournaments this season including four top 5s.
2019-20 Season
Joined the Bearkat Team in January 2020 and competed in all three events in the spring, carding a 75.78 scoring average ... highlighted by sixth-place in first event as a Bearkat at Texas State Invitational firing 74-75-74 ... 15th at UNF Collegiate with rounds of 73-76-76
Junior Golf
Was part of the Western Australia State Team for 4 years from 2013-2016, winning the Western Australia State Foursomes in 2017. A win in the overall net for 72 holes in the Bowra and O'Dea classic was secured in 2017 and a win in the Lake Karrinyup Club Championships in 2017. Won the Lake Karrinyup Club Championships in 2019 with scores of 74-74 and winning 3 match play matches. Finished third in the 2019 Pinjarra Women’s Amateur with scores of 72-77 and 2
nd in the 2019 Hartfield Women’s Amateur with scores of 78-71. Was ranked 5
th in the women’s scoring average in Western Australia with an average of 72 at the end of the 2019 season.
