Dustin Plankey was hired in December of 2019 to provide care to the Bearkat football and softball teams.
Prior to joining the Bearkat family, Plankey completed his Masters degree at the University of North Texas in December of 2019. While serving as a graduate assistant at North Texas, Plankey provided healthcare coverage for the football program as well as the swim and dive program.
In addition to his athletic training duties, Plankley also oversaw the implementation of the Nordbord hamstring testing device as well as the C3Logix concussion testing and management system. Plankey also was able to gain professional sports experience during his time as a graduate assistant, completing an internship with the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football.
Plankey completed his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training at Washburn University in 2018. During his time at Washburn, he provided care to multiple Ichabod athletic teams as well as coverage of local high school athletes. Additionally, he completed an internship during his time at Washburn by spending a summer working with the University of Alabama football program.
