Trevor Williams is entering his 11th year with Sam Houston, including eight years as Associate AD for Strength and Conditioning where he oversees 450 student-athletes that compete across 17 varsity sports.
Previously hired as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Sam Houston, Williams has already contributed in a short time to the major success and growth of all athletic programs with a solid vision for his student-athletes to grow physically and mature mentally. He provides the Bearkats with sound programs that include strength, power, and explosiveness, plyometrics, speed, agility, work capacity, and coaching.
Prior to Sam Houston, Williams was an assistant strength coach at Delaware where he spearheaded the strength & conditioning programs for several of their athletic teams, including men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse. The 2012-2013 women’s basketball season culminated in the program’s second straight CAA Conference title and a second straight NCAA Tournament appearance making it to the Sweet 16. The 2013-2014 men’s basketball team won their first CAA regular season and conference titles and made their first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 1999.
Before his three years at Delaware, Williams spent two and a half years coaching in the Washington D.C area. While at Georgetown, he was responsible for writing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for several varsity athletic squads. Williams worked mostly with the Hoya baseball team, specifically working with the pitchers and freshmen developmental program.
In the spring of 2024, Williams was honored as Master Strength & Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association for his professionalism, knowledge, expertise and longevity in the field.
Williams holds numerous certifications and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association
