Women golfers runner-up at Nicholls

MANY, LA -- The Sam Houston State women's golf team finished as team runners-up in the 36-hole Nicholls State Colonel women's intercollegiate tournament Monday and Tuesday, October 20-21
McNeese State won the team title with a two-day score of 597. Sam Houston placed second10 strokes back at 607.
Landa Stewart led the Bearkats with a 75-72.--147 total to place fourth individually.
Amanda Carmona (73-80--153) and Wenday Joyner (77-76--153) tied for ninth place in the medalist standings.
Other Sam Houston finishes included Katelyn Jones 17th (75-81--156), Ellie McKinley 22nd (82-75--157) and Kirsten Spittler 39th (75-89--164).
Samford University placed third with a 611 score, followed by Southern Mississippi and South Alabama at 621, Lamar 622, Nicholls State 628, Troy 641, Jackson State 659 and Centenary 669.
Lacy McKinley of McNeese State won the individual medalist championship with a 146 total.
