Bearkat women seventh at Koasati Pines

KINDER, LA -- Paced by Wendy Joyner, the Sam Houston State women's golf team finished in seventh place at the Koasati Pines Collegiate Classic hosted by McNeese State at the par 72, 6,203-yard course at Koasati Pines Golf Club.
Joyner carded a 81-74-79--234 score to stand 17th in the individual rankings. Jennifer Heinz and Amanda Carmona tied for 20th with a scores of 77-80-78--235 and 80-79-76--235, respectively. Landa Stewart, 77-79-83--239, and Ani Carrillo, 81-80-78--239, were 34th, and Emily Bartholet was 39th, 80-79-82--241.
Florida International won the team championship with a score of 304-309-307--920. Cristina Marin of FIU was the individual medalist winner with a 72-80-70--222 card.
South Alabama, 921, was the team runner-up, followed by Lamar 922, Central Arkansas 931, Texas-San Antonio 939, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 941, Sam Houston 944, McNeese St 960, Louisiana-Monroe 962, McLennan 963, Nicholls St. 973, Arkansas State 974, Troy 991, Wichita St. 993, Centenary 1006, and Houston Baptist 1062.
The tournament is the first of the spring semester for the Sam Houston State women's golf team
