LAFAYETTE, LA -- Brandon Frankhouser shot a four-under final round 68 to end up in 15th place individually with a 54-hole total of 74-78-68--220 as Sam Houston State tied with Texas State-San Marcos for 11th in the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Classic at Oakbourne Country Club Monday and Tuesday.
The University of Colorado won the team title with a two-day score of 862. Kelly Kraft of SMU was individual medalist with a 54-hole total of 73-68-70--211.
Sam Houston State produced a team score of 302-293-298--893. Other Sam Houston finishes were Scott Kelly 17th (73-71-77--221), Scooter Jefferson 28th (76-70-77-223), John Hurley 60th (79-74-78--231), and Fergal Rafferty 65th (79-79-76--234).
SMU was team runnerup with an 875 total, followed by Illinois 884, Richmond 885, North Texas 886, Louisiana Tech 887, Missouri-Kansas City 888, Louisiana-Lafayette and Southeastern Louisiana 889, Kansas 890, Sam Houston and Texas State-San Marcos 893, Louisiana-Monroe 905, and Arkansas State 934.
