TUCSON, AZ Scott Kelly placed 16^th individually to lead the Sam Houston State men's golf team to a ninth place team finish at the University of Arizona National Invitational Tournament Monday and Tuesday.

The Bearkats put together a 54-hole team total of 299-286-296?881. TCU won the team championship with a two-day score of 275-290-289?854.

Kent State was the runner-up with an 857 total, followed by UNLV 864, Arizona State 866, Arizona 870, Houston 874, Pepperdine 875, Arizona 877, Sam Houston 881, Notre Dame and Tulsa 883, New Mexico 884, Iowa 885, Virginia 890, and UTEP 921.

Nicolas Geyger of Tulsa, Ben Moser of Houston, and David Markle of Kent State tied for individual medalist honors, all with eight-under totals of 208.

Kelly shot a 54-hole score of 73-73-70?216 to place 16^th. Other Sam Houston finishes were Brandon Frankhouser 31^st 74-73-73?220; Scooter Jefferson 39^th 75-70-77?222; Fergal Rafferty 58^th 81-70-76?227; and Beau Willis 70^th 77-77-77?231.
