Men's golf places 15th at Wichita State

WICHITA, KS -- The Sam Houston State men's golf team finished in 15th place in the Wichita State Shocker Classic Monday and Tuesday. Sam Houston State put together a 54-hole team total of 300-298-310--908 on the pat 71, 6,814-yard course at the Wichita Country Club.

Scooter Jefferson was the top individual finisher with a score of 73-77-72--222. Brandon Frankhouser placed 46th at 75-77-76--228. Fergal Rafferty was 53rd with a 75-71-83--229. Scott Kelly placed 64th with a 77-75-79--231. Beau Willis was 87th with an 83-75-84--242 score.

Host team Wichita State won the event with a team total of 281-286-288--855.

Kevin Carrigan of Texas-Arlingotn won the individual medalist title with a 67-68-71--206.

Next action for the Bearkat men's golf team will be the Southland Conference championship April 14-16.
