Women' finish 9th at Victoria

VICTORIA -- Led by Wendy Joyner who placed 13th in the individual standings, the Sam Houston State women's golf team finished 9th out of 14 teams at the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate hosted by Texas State University-San Marcos Monday and Tuesday
The tournament was played on the par 72, 6,028 yard course at Victoria Country Club.
Host team Texas State University-San Marcos and Lamar were tied in the team competition after 54-holes, both with 920 scores. The Bobcats won the tournament trophy in a sudden death playoff.
Arkansas State was third at 935, followed by Texas-San Antonio 937 and Texas-El Paso and McNeese tied for fifth with 943 scores.
Sam Houston State's ninth place team score was 318-322-321--961.
Joyner was the top Bearkat in the individual medalist standings with a 78-78-77--233 total. Amanda Carmona and Ellie McKinley tied for 41st, both with 243 totals. Kirsten Spittler was 44nd with a 244 and Katelyn Jones 64th at 244.
