Men's golf finishes 9th at Bandit Intercollegiate

NEW BRAUNFELS - The Sam Houston men's golf team placed ninth in the rain-shortened J. L. Lewis Intercollegiate tournament hosted by Texas State at the Bandit Golf Course.
The tournament is scheduled to be a 54-hole event but tournament officials stopped play after the first two rounds of the event due to predictions for bad weather on Tuesday.
North Texas won the team championship. The Mean Green fired a 585 team total. Rice was runner-up at 592, followed by Stephen F. Austin 595 and Houston 603. Eleven teams were participating in the event.
Peter Fallon of North Texas won the individual medalist competition.
Scott Kelly led Sam Houston with a 149 total to place 13th. Other Bearkat finishes were Kort O'Leary 16th (150), Justin McKay 42nd (160), Beau Willis 46th (163) and Ryan Howard 57th (175).
