
Women's golf in first place after 36 at North Texas

Through 36 holes, the Bearkats hold a one-stroke lead over host North Texas as they enter the third and final round of the WorldLink North Texas Classic being played at Champions Circle Golf Club.
Sam Houston totaled 293-294-587 Monday on the par 72 6,489 yard layout in Fort Worth.
North Texas is in second place with a 588 total, followed by Houston Baptist 599, Lamar 609, A&M-Corpus Christi 613, Redlands 620, Bowling Green 621, Oklahoma City 623, Texas-Pan American 627, McLennan 627, Louisiana-Monroe 631, Stephen F. Austin 651 and Centenary 681.
Susannah Grunden of Bowling Green leads the individual medalist standings with a 69-71-140 card. Kelsey Kipp of North Texas is in second place with a 71-70-141 total.
Sam Houston scores include Hardy 3rd place 73-69-142, Musk 4th 69-75-144, Meghann Stevens 9th 74-75-149, Kirsten Spittler 17th 77-75-152, Jessica Borth 22nd 77-76--153 and Landa Stewart 32nd 80-79-159.
The 13 teams will complete the final 18 holes of the event Tuesday.
