Tatyana Postnikova, Sheridan Currie and Anrinette Botah won their singles matches and the Bearkats swept the doubles point as the Sam Houston women's tennis team rolled up its fifth dual match victory of the season and upped its Southland Conference record to 3-1 Sunday.

Botah's 6-3 6-2 victory over Nina Schmied at number five singles was the decisive singles win for the Kats. Postnikova defeated Raissa Dias 6-1 6-3 at number two singles and Currie won 6-2 6-1 over Morgane Dadot at number four.

In doubles, Nadia Dubyanskaya and Postnikova paired to edge Mia Hagiu and Laura Verges 8-7 at number one; Currie and Cally Woerner knocked off Audrey Chelini and Raissa Dias 8-2 at number two and  Imke Jagau and Natalie Petaia  defeated Morgane Dadot and Nina Schmied  8-5 in the number three doubles.

"This was a good win for our young team," Sam Houston head coach Jim Giachino said. "Winning all three doubles and picking up the doubles point was critical. We're definitely not a finished product as yet but these young girls keep fighting."
