Victoria, Texas - The Sam Houston men's golf team finished 8th at the Texas State Jim West Intercollegiate held Sunday through Tuesday. Fifteen teams participated in the event.

The tournament was played on the par 72, 6,870-yard course at Victoria Country Club.

Sam Houston's James Glenn fired a four-under par 68 in the final round to jump up to fourth place in the individual medalist standings. Glenn's 54-hole total was 71-75-68--214.

Other Bearkat finishes and scores were Jeff Litwak 13th 74-75-72--221, Kort O'Leary 32nd 76-76-73--235, Blaine Weiterman 41st 75-75-79--229, Justin McKay 56th 83-74-75--232 and Drue Thompson 86-77-76--239.

The Bearkats finished with a 54-hole score of 305-300-292--897.

Louisiana Tech won the team championship, shooting 863. Southeastern Louisiana and UT-Arlington finished second and third.
