
Hardy & Stevens named All-Southland

Hardy, a sophomore from San Saba, has earned all-conference honors for the second year in a row. She was a second team selection as a freshman in 2010.
The Bearkats' leader in stroke average this season, Hardy came with one hundredth of a percentage point of tying the all-time Sam Houston single season stroke average record. In 31 rounds this year, she produced a 75.45 average. Stefanie Page holds the record with a 75.44 average in 32 rounds in 2006-07.
Hardy won the individual medalist championship at the Houston Baptist tournament, was the runner-up in the Louisiana-Monroe Fall Classic and placed third in the Centenary Ladies Invitational. Overall for the 2010-11 season, she posted seven top 10 individual finishes. At the Southland Conference tournament in Corpus Christi, Hardy placed 17th in the final individual standings.
Stevens ranked second in stroke average for Sam Houston this year with a 77.61 mean. She posted eight top 10 individual finishes including a runner-up effort at the McNeese State Cowgirl Classic.
