Sam Houston swept all three doubles pro sets and all six singles matches to blank Central Arkansas 7-0 in a Southland Conference women's tennis match Saturday morning at the McAdams Tennis Center.
The victory upped Sam Houston's record to 7-6 for the season , ending a four-match losing streak. The Bearkats are 4-3 in Southland Conference action.
Sam Houston will play its final home match of the 2011 season Sunday at 11 a.m. when the Bearkats play host to Northwestern State University. The Demons come into the contest tied for second place in the Southland with a 6-1 record and are 13-4 overall.
The Bearkat women stand sixth in the Southland standings. The top eight teams in the final regular season standings earn berths in the post-season league tournament in Corpus Christi.
