Corpus Christi Islander Classic

Corpus Christi -- Led by Meghan Musk, the Sam Houston women's golf team finished eighth in the 14-team field at the Islander Classic women's golf tournament.
The intercollegiate event was held on the par 72, 6,093-yard course at Corpus Christi Country Club. The tournament is being hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Musk finished in 12th place in the individual medalist cmopetition with a score of 79-72-78--229.
Other Sam Houston finishes and scores were Shelby Hardy 75-79-79--233, 23rd place; Jackie Smith 83-80-79--242 and Jessica Borth 81-79-82--242 tied for 40th place; Christina Stringham 79-82-85--246, 51st place and Laura Reynolds 86-79-88--253 59th place.
UTSA won the team title with a remarkably consistent score of 296-296-296--888. The Roadrunners' Summer Batiste and Taylor Newlin tied for individual medalist honors, both with four-over totals of 220.
Lamar was the team runner-up with a 928 total, followed by A&M-Corpus Christi 932, Houston Baptist 936, Bradley 937, Central Arkansas 939, Missouri-Kansas City 943 and Sam Houston 945.
Finishing behind the Bearkats were Oklahoma City in ninth place 951 followed by North Dakota State 957, McLennan 960, Texas-Pan American 966, Stephen F. Austin 987 and A&M-Kingsville 1,041.
