The Sam Houston women's bowling team upped its season record to 69-30 with a pair of match wins over Grambling Saturday at Huntsville Lanes.
Both contests were quad Baker total pins matches with Sam Houston winning the first 884-677 and the nightcap 804-615.
Sunday, the Kats took two more quad Baker victories, winning 813-462 and 787-589.
The women's bowling team is ranked No. 9 in NCAA Division I competition this spring.
Friday, Kimi Davidson, Neishka Cardona, Lisa MacAllister and Michelle Secours competed as individuals in the USBC intercollegiate singles championships sectional qualifier in Euless at AMF Showplace.
The Bearkat trio competed against the best played from other universities in the Midwest to qualify for the USBA national singles championship April 16th-18th at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Nebr. The event features the top 24 male and top 16 female collegiate bowlers in the country competing for national singles titles.
The Bearkats will travel to Smyrna, Tenn., March 16-18 for their final regular season tournament of the season, the Music City Classic.
A majority of the top 20 teams in the country also will be at the Tennessee tournament, giving the Kats one last opportunity to post wins over top-ranked opponents. Sam Houston stands 37-26 against teams in the top 20 this season.
Only eight teams earn berths in the NCAA Division I women's bowling championships April 12-14 in Cleveland. Sam Houston became the first inaugural women's program to earn a berth in NCAA bowling's Elite Eight last year. The Kats finished seventh nationally.
