Men 4th at Samford

The Sam Houston men's golf team place fourth in the 18-team field at the Samford Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday, the Bearkats' first tournament of the spring semester.

The event was held on the par 72, 7,001-yard course at Hoover Country Club in Hoover, Alabama.

James Glenn (77-70-74--221) and Scott Kelly (74-73-74--221) led the Bearkats, both tying for ninth place in the individual standings.

Justin McKay (74-74-77--225) placed 17th and Garrett Drive (74-76-79--229) and Jordan McColl (77-74-78--229) tied for 29th individually.

Samford University, led by tournament individual medalist Casey O'Toole, won the team title. O'Toole won the inidividual trophy with a five-under 73-66-72--211. Samford fired 882 as a team.

Austin Peay and Davidson College tied for second both with 891 scores. Sam Houston was fourth with a 299-291-303--893 team total.
