Women Finish Eighth at ORU

TULSA, Okla. -- Alisa White finished 16th as the Sam Houston State women's golf team finished eighth out of an 18-team field at the ORU Shootout at Meadowbrook Country Club.
Paige Nelson (78-78-78-234) was tied for 33rd, Nicole Budnik (78-78-80-236) was tied for 37th, Brooke Fouts (81-77-80-238) finished tied for 50th and Abigayle Corson (80-84-77-241) was tied for 61st.
Lamar won the event by 14 shots and the hosts Oral Roberts finished second, just one stroke ahead of Arkansas-Little Rock.
Sofie Kuarnstrom of UALR was the individual champion after firing an impressive 68 in the final round to take a six-shot victory.
The Bearkats will return to Huntsville to host the Sam Houston Harold Funston Invitational Oct. 7-8 at Raven Nest.
