Men Twelfth at Royal Oaks

DALLAS -- The Sam Houston State men's golf team sits in 12th place of an extremely strong field after two rounds of the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate. Baylor and SMU are co-hosting the 54-hole event at Dallas' Royal Oaks Country Club.
The 12-team field includes eight teams ranked in the top-50 in the latest GolfStat rankings.
Albert Miner sits two-under par and is tied for 18th after firing 70s in each of the first two rounds. The senior is nine strokes back of the leader, Oklahoma State's Kevin Dougherty who shot the low round of the tournament 63 and a 68.
Oklahoma State is in first place by a six stroke margin. The Cowboys are the No. 3 team in the country. 11th ranked Stanford is second, No. 18 New Mexico is third, No. 22 Baylor is fourth and No. 38 SMU rounds out the top five.
Zach Cabra fired a second round 67 to pull himself into 49th after shooting a 78 in the first round. Klein Klotz (74-73) is 61st, Logan Boatner (77-80) is 70th, Andrew Johnson (84-81) is 71st, and Kyle Hodges (83-83) is 72nd.
The Tournament concludes Tuesday with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.
