Sam Houston had a lead going to the bottom of the eighth
inning before Dallas Baptist rallied and scored two runs to beat the Bearkats
8-7 in the second game of the series.
The Kats put up a four spot in the top of the eighth inning
to take a 7-6 lead over the Patriots. Caleb Smith gave up the two runs in relief
and was credited for the loss.
Sam Houston again jumped out to a 2-0 lead and Cody Dickson
had only allowed one hit through five innings. Dickson loaded the bases in the
sixth and third baseman Austin Listi doubled to clear the bases. Listi scored
the final run in the inning after an error by Ryan O'Hearn at first.
Outfielder Luke Plucheck was 2-for-3 with three runs driven
in. Catcher Anthony Azar was 2-for-4 with one RBI. Azar is hitting .667 in the
series.
The series finale is Saturday at 1 p.m.
