Men struggle in final round at UTSA

SAN ANTONIO – Zach Cabra's second-round 68 was the highlight of the week for the Sam Houston State men's golf team at the Oak Hills Invitational. Despite Cabra's top-15 performance, the Bearkats finished 14th out of 15 teams at the event hosted by UTSA.
The junior transfer started slow with a 76 in the first round but rallied to shoot three-under par in the second to put him tied for fifth going into the final round. He closed the tournament with a 78 to finish tied for 12th.
Playing among three GolfStat top-50 ranked teams, the Kats were just four strokes outside of the top five at the end of day one. The final round was played in near freezing temperatures, high winds and light precipitation.
No. 13 Oklahoma took home the tournament title while no. 30 Baylor finished second despite having the top two individual medalists.
