Miner wins UALR/First Tee Classic

Senior Albert Miner won individual medalist honors at the UALR/First Tee Classic played at the Chenal's Bear Den Course in Little Rock, Ark. The tournament victory is the first of the year for Miner after he finished runner-up at the SHSU Harold Funston Invitational and the Argent Financial Classic hosted by Louisiana Tech.
Miner was even for the tournament and two strokes ahead of McNeese Stat's Martin Eriksson. The senior from Katy fired 72-70-74-216 on the 7,326-yard, par-72 layout.
The Bearkats finished second at the event, just four strokes back of team champion Louisiana-Monroe. Sam Houston finished ahead of Southland opponents McNeese State, Stephen F. Austin, Oral Roberts and Abilene Christian.
Klein Klotz was tied for 22nd (81-73-75-229), Zach Cabra (75-76-79-230) and Logan Boatner (74-79-77-230) were both tied for 25th. Andrew Johnson, who had a very solid first day, finished tied for 36th (74-74-84-232).
