Women 17th in strong field

Nicole Budnik led the way for the Sam Houston women's golf team in a strong field at the Web.com Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla. The Bearkats finished 17th but were playing among four ranked teams.
Budnik finished 21st on the par 72, 5,967 yard Marsh Landing Country Club. The sophomore fired a one-under 71 in the second round.
Alisa White bounced back from a 78 in the first round to shoot 75 in the second round and a 73 in the final round. She finished tied for 46th.
Abigayle Corson (80-75-78-233) was tied for 76th, Paige Nelson (75-76-84-235) was tied for 78th, and Brooke Fouts (82-80-83-245) was tied for 96th.
Next week is the Southland Conference Championship at the High Meadow Ranch Golf Club in Magnolia Texas. The tournament tees off on April 15 and a champion will be crowned April 17.
