MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Paige Nelson and Alisa White both finished in the top 10 at the FedEx Memphis Intercollegiate Tournament at Ridgeway Country Club, while the Bearkats placed sixth in the field of 12 teams.

Middle Tennessee won the event by eight strokes over the hosts Memphis. Ole Miss finished third, just two strokes ahead of Southland foe Lamar. Xavier finished four strokes ahead of SHSU to claim fifth place.

Nelson (70-73-74-217), an Honorable Mention All-Southland member last season, was sixth after going four-over for the tournament. Her first-round 70 was the best round by a Bearkat at the event.

White (73-71-74-218), last season's league Newcomer of the Year, finished one stroke back of Nelson in eighth place.

Nicole Budnik (82-77-74-233) rallied from a slow start to shoot a 74 in the third round and finish tied for 35^th. Newcomer Celeste Lo (80-77-79-236) was 43^rd and freshman Sarah Black (81-78-78-237) was 50^th in her first collegiate tournament.

The Kats will have a week off before heading to the ULM Fred Marx Invitational at Bayou Desiard Country Club in Monroe, La.
