For the second consecutive tournament, Sam Houston State's Heather Shake heads into the final day of play in the lead, this time at the Bearkat Women's Invitational from Huntsville's Raven Nest Golf Course.
The junior carded 1-under, 141 during the opening 36 holes on Monday to maintain a three-stroke lead over McNeese State's Riley Isaac and Houston Baptist's Brook Johnston (2-over, 144), although Sam Houston sits in seventh at 43-over, 611, 18 strokes back of the Huskies' 25-over, 593.
Shake has tapped in a course-high 29 pars, coming off her tournament title at Oral Roberts, and along with teammate Celeste Lo, boasts four birdies. The shot of the tournament thus far comes courtesy of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Ana Paredes, who had a hole-in-one on the par-3, 179-yard 17th hole.
The field, which includes seven of eight Southland Conference teams, tees off in Tuesday's final round at 8:30 a.m., with a staggered shotgun format in place.

Nicole Dillon (82-87 – 27-over, 169) is competing as an individual, and sits tied for 67th.
McNeese and A&M-Corpus Christi (603) sit 10 strokes behind HBU in second, followed by Central Arkansas (605) in fourth, Southern Mississippi and Lamar (607) in a tie for fifth. Stephen F. Austin (616) trails the Bearkats by five strokes in eighth while McLennan Community College (618) and Tyler Junior College (621) round out the top 10.
