Women finish 11th at Clover Cup

MESA, Ariz. -- The Sam Houston women's golf team finished tied for 11th in a stacked field at the Notre Dame Clover Cup hosted at Longbow Golf Club.
Paige Nelson was tied for 10th individually. Her second-round 72 on the par 72 6,184 yard course was her best score of the weekend.
Nationally-ranked opponents Arizona State and Notre Dame finished at the top of the leaderboard. TCU was third, Oklahoma was fourth, Florida International was fifth and ranked SMU was sixth.
Celeste Lo and Nicole Budnik were tied for 57th while freshman Sarah Black was tied for 68th. Alisa White was tied for 71st. Brooke Fouts, playing as an individual finished 77th.
The Kats will compete in one more tournament before the Southland championship, the Houston Baptist Huskie Invitational March 30-31 in Houston. The league championships will be held at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club April 13-15.
