SHSU women finish fourth at HBU Tournament

The Sam Houston women's golf team placed fourth at the HBU Husky Invitational Monday and Tuesday. The Bearkats first a team total of 306-307-308—921.
Hosted by Houston Baptist University, the tournament was played on the 6,084-yard par 72 course at Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas.
Lynn College won the team championship with a 899 total. Lamar was the runner-up with 906 strokes and host HBU was third with a 919 total. Sam Houston placed fourth with the Kats' 921 score followed by McLennan 937, Oklahoma City 946, A&M-Corpus Christi 955, Texas Southern 969, Western Texas 978, UTPA 999 and Incarnate Word 1,034.
Jessica Bradley of Lynn College won the individual medalist title with a 71-73-72—216 scorecard. Wenny Chang of Lamar and Kassandra Rivera of Texas Southern tied for the runner-up spot, both with 222 totals.
Alisa White paced the Bearkats with an eighth place total of 74-76-77—227. Other Sam Houston scores and finishes were Sarah Black 12th 71-77-81—229, Nicole Budnick 14th 81-76-75—232, Paige Nelson 17th 80-78-75—233 and Celeste Lo 46th 88-81-82—251.
The tournament wraps up the regular season schedule for the Bearkats. Sam Houston will compete in the Southland Conference women's golf championships Monday through Wednesday, April 13-15 at Stonebridge Country Club in McKinney, Texas
