Kats weather first round at Lady Eagle Invite

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Sam Houston State women's golf team finished in sixth place at the weather-shortened Southern Mississippi Lady Eagle Invitational played at Hattiesburg Country Club.
The teams managed to get just the first round in soggy conditions but were unable to complete more than seven holes of the second round.
Freshman Sarah Black tied for seventh after firing a 3-over 75 in the first round. She tied with seven other players, who were seven strokes back of the individual medalist Ellinor Haag (WKU).
Alisa White and Nicole Budnik tied for 24th after they each fired a 78. Paige Nelson tied for 37th with a 79 in the first round. Celeste Lo tied for 48th after she shot an 81. Brooke Fouts, playing as an individual, also tied for 48th.
Led by Haag's first-round 68, Western Kentucky comfortably finished in first place with a team score of 293. South Alabama was second, while Houston Baptist and Stephen F. Austin tied for third. Memphis was fifth place ahead of the Bearkats.
