Bearkats lead after Day 1

After 36 holes of golf Monday, the Bearkat women are on top of the leaderboard after the first day of the SHSU Bearkat Women's Invitational at Raven Nest Golf Club.
The Kats shot a blistering 287 to open play Monday morning. Gianti Mahardhika and Hannah Alberto each shot an opening round 70 to help the Kats get off to the hot start.
After a second round 296, the Bearkats will take a five-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round.
Mahardhika leads the Kats with a 142 (E), and currently stands in fourth place. Alberto is two strokes back (+2) and is in fifth. Kari Bush is tied for 18th at 8-over, Heather Shake and Jenna Phillips are each tied for 20th at 9-over.
Elodie Chaplet of Lamar is the individual leader after rounds of 67 and 71 for a 2-under, 138.
